WHY ARE WE BUILDING THE KITE HOUSE
Finding the right kite accommodation is harder than it should be.
There's no shortage of kite accommodation out there. The problem is knowing which one is actually right for you — the right spot, the right setup, and the right group of people to share it with. Right now you're scrolling through Airbnb, Facebook groups, and Booking.com, reading between the lines of listings that all claim to be perfect for kiters. Even when you find somewhere that looks right, you have no idea who you'll be sharing it with or what the vibe will be. Getting it wrong means two weeks in the wrong place with the wrong people. And if you've ever ended up at an organised kite camp, you'll know that's not quite it either. They're great for progression: structured days, coaching, a clear schedule. But that structure leaves little room for flexibility, and sometimes that's just not what you're looking for. You want the freedom to kite when the wind calls, spend the morning working, eat when you're hungry, and connect with people on your own terms. Well-intentioned as they are, camps aren't built for that. We think that's a problem worth fixing. We have a hunch the same gap exists for the people running these houses: no reliable way to reach kiters who actually fit, just algorithmic platforms that treat every property the same. Lydia and Lorena met in Mexico and realised they'd finally found what they'd both been looking for. Lydia had been living the digital nomad life for years, travelling between kite spots, always hunting for that combination of great wind, a proper setup, and the right people to share it with. Lorena was two years into a round-the-world trip with her partner, chasing the same thing. In Mexico, they had it all and over a beer after a session, they talked about how hard it always was to find. They teamed up, combining years of travel, kitesurfing, and innovation experience, and decided to build the thing they'd always wished existed. The Kite House is the result. They're excited to build a to build a marketplace where like minded people easily find their ideal Kite House.
